Verge Maintenance

North Northamptonshire Council is responsible for the maintenance of verges outside the 30 mph zone.

Within the 30 mph zone the Parish Council undertakes the maintenance on behalf of the Unitary Council and employs a contractor, currently Mowernan Grounds Maintenance, to cut the verges 25 times a year, compared to the 3 cuts the Unitary Council offers.

Volunteers have planted daffodils in the verges and snowdrops under the hedgerows. These are not mowed until 6 weeks after flowering.

The Chelston Rise Estate Management company employ contractors to cut the communal grass in Chelston Rise.
