Lamp 2 (Water Lane) out of service

Street light

Residents may notice that Lamp 2 in Water Lane is not working. This is due to the supply cable breaking and coming away from the junction box. Western Power Distribution have been notified.

This has now been repaired.

LED street lighting changeover completed

LED street light

The replacement of all 60 lamps in the parish to more energy efficient LEDs has been completed, and the latest energy certificate shows that the annual energy consumption has dropped a massive 78%, equating to a saving of nearly 3,000 kg of CO2 e annually.

LED street lighting changeover continues

The rollout of the LED lighting in the parish continues, with the Zeta Specialist Lighting contractors, Webheath Services, working through the weekend, using their zero emissions electric MEWP.

All the lights in Chelston Rise have now been changed over.

The Parish Council has been awarded £16,650 toward the LED footway lighting scheme.

The Parish Council has been awarded £16,650 by the Windfarm Trust, which is their largest grant to-date. This will cover 75% of the capital costs of replacing the 60 older Sodium Oxide (SOX) lanterns to with more energy efficient LED lighting.

We are aware of three dead street lights in the Parish -

Lamp 19 by 8 Raunds Road, Chelveston.

Lamp 27 by Woodlands and Lamp 33 by The Marches, Caldecott.

We are not planning to replace these dead SOX lamps ahead of the LED rollout in April.

Several residents have contacted the Council to report that Lamp 14 (on the sloping green opposite 16 High Street) is dead and that Lamp 40 (on the B645 past School House) has an open bowl hanging from one end.

Our lighting contractor has been requested to attend.

New low energy Street Lamp 59 live in Bidwell Lane

Lamp 59

The developer has replaced one street lamp and installed a new street lamp in Bidwell Lane, Caldecott (one at either end of the development).

The PL-L Libra lamps see a return to white light, but at only 36w compared to 80w for the previous white Mercury lamps, and with better colour rendering, which will assist with CCTV, etc.

Street Lamp repairs update

Lamp 3 (by Scaraben, Water Lane), Lamp 41 (corner of Foot Lane and Higham Road (B645)) and Lamp 44 (crossing point on Higham Road (B645)) have all been repaired by our contractors.

Western Power Distribution (WPD) have installed a new overhead power line to Lamp 34 in Bidwell Lane, after the original feed was disconnected approx. two weeks earlier for a new development.

Lamp 2 (near Hall Farm House, Water Lane) has been reported as dead.

Lamp 8 (near 3 Duchy Close) has been reported as coming on early.

UPDATED: All repaired by the lighting contractor.
