The Environment Agency has drafted the permit for the Waste to Fuel plant in Upper Higham Lane and this is now available for the public to comment on until 6th June 2019.

Star & Garter re-listed as a Asset of Community Value

Star & Garter re-listed as a Asset of Community Value

ENC has re-listed the Star & Garter, and adjacent pub field to the rear, as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) for another 5 years.

The site was re-nominated by the Parish Council in November 2018, to protect it as a major community asset in the parish, as described in the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The Plastic to Fuel recovery facility application in Upper Higham Lane has been Granted

The NCC Development Control Committee voted 5-1 to grant the application on Thursday 18th October, which will allow the plant to be built at the Upper Higham Lane site.

The applicant now requires the Environment Agency to grant a permit in order to operate the plant.

NDP passes the Referendum with 88.2% in favour

NDP passes the Referendum with 88.2% in favour

The electors of the parish have voted in favour of the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Votes cast in favour of a Yes = 225 (88.2%)

Votes cast in favour of a No = 28 (11.0%)

Ballot papers rejected (being unmarked or void for uncertainty) = 2

Electorate = 463 Ballot papers issued = 255 Turnout = 55.1%

Chelston Rise inner triangle amenity area listed as an Asset of Community Value

Earlier this year, the Parish Council nominated the Chelston Rise inner triangle amenity area, including the Play area, as an Asset of Community Value . The nomination has been successful and from today the site is now listed as an ACV,

This doesn't affect the ownership or use of the land as an amenity area, but does provide safeguards against the land being sold off for development
