New Chair of the Parish Council elected

New Chair of the Parish Council elected

At the Annual Meeting held on 11th May 2020, Cllr Andrew Seaman was elected as the Chair of the Parish Council for the year 2020-21.

The new Vice-chair will be elected at the June meeting.

A 125 years (and a few months) since the Parish Council was created, and we have held our first ever virtual meeting, using the Zoom hosting platform. Parish Council Budget and Precept for FY2019-20

Parish Council Budget and Precept for FY2019-20

The budget for next financial year was agreed at the Parish Council meeting in January. The Precept will be £10,450, which is £50 (0.48%) higher than last year, but as there is one more Band D dwelling in the parish, the Parish Council tax element will remain the same at £50.48 (Band D).

4th January - 124 years since the Parish Council's first meeting

124 years ago today (Friday 4th January 1895) the Parish Council met for the first time in the school rooms (now the Village Hall), transferring power from the Church and the Lord of the Manor's land agent to the newly elected parishioners (albeit the land agent, James Moyes Gray, got elected as the Vice-Chairman!)

Footway siding out

Footway siding out

The Parish Council is funding the "siding out" (widen back to full width) of a number of footways that have suffered encroaching vegetation. These are the footway that links Duchy Close to Hillside (pictured), the whole of the western side of Raunds Road, and part of Caldecott Road between the Church and Bidwell Lane.

You may have spotted the Council's latest contractor at work!

Ray is the Council's new Chair!

Ray is the Council's new Chair!

At the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council on Monday 8th May, Cllr Ray Daniells was elected Chair for 2017-18. He was presented with his badge of the office, a miniature of the Council's Crest, by his predecessor, Cllr Liz Kelly.
