69th Gold medal win at the Chelsea Flower Show 2022
At the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, Bloms Bulbs picked up their 69th Gold medal in the floral awards in the Great Pavilion for their cut Tulips.
Chris and Elaine, whose family business has been selling tulip bulbs for five generations, live in Chelveston.

QPJ Goodie Bags delivered
The Parish Council's QPJ goodie bags have been sent out to all households that requested them - lots of puzzles to solve, clues to find in the parish, and colouring sheets!
The finished canvas pieces will be assembled in St Johns Church on Sunday by 3pm, where you can enjoy a 50's themed tea party from 2 - 4pm.

Application for a Parish Flagpole
The Parish Council has applied to NNC for planning consent for a flagpole at the Village Hall, for the flying of ceremonial flags on appropriate civic occasions.
It will have an internal halyard, eliminating the noise often caused by the halyard hitting the pole in the wind.

Quiz Night on 21st January cancelled
The Quiz due to be held at St Johns Church on 21st January has been postponed due to concerns regarding Omicron variant.
The Events Team is sorry for any disappointment and is planning to reschedule this event some time in March.

Fun Dog Show 2021
It was the fifth annual fun dog show at the Village Hall on Sunday 5th September 2021. The Best in Show was won by Nicky with her dog Hurley, and the Fancy Dress was won by Alfie with his dog Bear (police). Many thanks to the Events Team for organising the event.

St John's Patronal Festival Updated
Despite the delaying of all lockdown restrictions being lifted, we are happy to say that all events planned for the weekend of 26th / 27th June are able to go ahead as they all meet current Government guidelines.

Bell tolls & Prayers at St Johns for the Duke of Edinburgh
A half-muffled bell was tolled 99 times at 12 noon at St John's on Saturday 10th April along with other churches and cathedrals across the country.
The church will be open especially from 10am-4pm on Sunday 11th April for prayers to be offered and candles lit in memory of Prince Philip. Some short prayers will be said at 3pm at St John's and at 3.30pm there will be an Online Service of Commemoration... Read More »
