At this morning's service at St Johns, 28 personnel from the present day 305th Air Mobility Wing, based at McGuire AFB, NJ, USA, attended and laid a wreath at the tower memorial to the wartime 305th Bombardment Group (Heavy) who flew out of RAF Chelveston.

The memorial to the 305th BG(H) who flew out of WW2 RAF Chelveston has been cleaned today by IMI using steam (not water jet).
The two wooden benches have been removed for cleaning and teak oiling and will return later this month.

The 305th Air Mobility Wing, from McGuire AFB, NJ, laid a wreath to honour the 305th BG (H) at the Parish Church on Sunday 26th May.
Lt Col David LeRoy, the Wing Deputy Commander, laid the wreath with Airman First Class Bolden.
The Revd Canon Lesley McCormack conducted the service, with Andrew Wager as Server and cross bearer.

On Friday 22nd February 2019, aircraft from the USAF 48th Fighter Wing, the 100th Air Refueling Wing and the 352nd Special Operations Wings will fly past the crash site memorial in Endclliffe Park, Sheffield, to pay tribute to the 10 US aircrew of the Mi Amigo who lost their lives 75 years ago.

Members of the 305th Air Mobility Wing, led by their commander, Col Darren Cole, attended the regular church service on Sunday 27th May, and laid a wreath at the church tower memorial to the wartime 305th Bombardment Group, that operated out of Chelveston airfield.

A crew lead by Capt Mike Meeks, 32nd Air Refuelling Squadron, 305th AMW from McGuire AFB, NJ, USA, stopped over in England to attend the Remembrance Service, and laid a wreath at the Church Tower memorial to the 305th BG(H).
The wreath layer was M/Sgt Jeremy Becnel, who is a Senior Boom Operator.

The 305th BG sign that used to hang by the entrance to driveway to the churchyard has been getting rather worn over the years and was replaced earlier this year by a new oak sign for the church services.
The 305th BG sign has been restored by the 305th BGMA and now proudly hangs next to the church tower, ready for the Remembrance Service on Sunday.

The weather stayed fine for the memorial Re-dedication service on Saturday, with 20 USAF personal from the 305th Air Mobility Wing having flown in from McGuire Air Force Base, NJ, USA, plus around 35 family members and one 94 year veteran, Doug Ward, of the 305th Bombardment Group Association.
A honour guard was provided by the 423rd Air Base Group from RAF Alconbury.
