Parish Council elections postponed to May 2020

The May 2019 elections for the Parish Council have now been postponed by the Secretary of State, the Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP, to May 2020, in order that they will coincide with the new Unitary Council elections in May 2020 (should he choose to agree to their creation).

Accordingly, existing Parish Councillors will serve an extra year.

The B663 Chelveston Road, Raunds, will be closed from Mon 3rd December to Weds 5th December (TBC) between the Stanwick turn and Darsdale Drive, whilst Anglian Water install a new water connection.

Gigaclear fibre rollout delayed to Q3 2019

Gigaclear fibre rollout delayed to Q3 2019

NCC have advised the Gigaclear works to install new fibres to connection points outside every property in the parish, will be delayed to the third quarter of 2019.

This is part of the "Superfast Northamptonshire" programme, bringing ultrafast full fibre broadband to rural areas.

Jack O'Lantern Competition - Sun 28th to Tues 30th October

A free to enter event for residents of the parish, with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The Events Committee judges will be out during the evenings of Sunday 28th to Tuesday 30th October, so remember to display it on all three evenings!

The Plastic to Fuel recovery facility application in Upper Higham Lane has been Granted

The NCC Development Control Committee voted 5-1 to grant the application on Thursday 18th October, which will allow the plant to be built at the Upper Higham Lane site.

The applicant now requires the Environment Agency to grant a permit in order to operate the plant.

Memorial plaque gilded for the 100 years Remembrance Service

As part of the 100 years (1918-2018) Remembrance Service preparations for 11th November, the Parish Council has arranged for the memorial plaque listing the names of the fallen to be gilded.

The Cross of Sorrow was erected by public subscription in 1920, whilst the plaque was installed by the Council in 1995, as by then the names were no longer legible on the Cross.

Gigaclear "Fibre to the Premises" rollout to Chelveston parish

Gigaclear have advised work will start in October to install new fibres to connection points outside every property in the parish, with an activation due in the first quarter of 2019.

As a Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) broadband service, it will offer speeds up to 1GB.

This is part of the "Superfast Northamptonshire" programme, bringing ultrafast full fibre broadband to rural areas.
