Improvements to the Village Hall ceiling
Local handyman Alastair Mead has recently carried out improvement works to the Village Hall ceiling, replacing the black "bin bags" with new loft hatches and redecorating the ceiling (last done in 2007).

SID Solar project now up and running!
Thanks to a Road Safety Community Fund grant from the Office of the Northants Police Fire and Crime Commissioner towards the costs, we have converted two of our Speed Indicator Devices (SIDs) to solar powered, so volunteers no longer have to change the batteries.
Result = SIDs are working more often, no manual handling and sustainable power!

Church driveway closed for tree works 5th - 9th August
The trees along the church driveway will be reduced in height over 5 days starting Monday 5th August. The works are being undertaken for public safety following arboriculturist advice. Accordingly there will be no access to the church during this time.

Late NNC Green Waste stickers - who to contact
Residents who have renewed their membership of the NNC Green Waste collection scheme should receive their new sticker as their old one expires. If, unfortunately, this hasn't arrived, please contact the Green Waste team at GardenWaste@northnorthants.gov.uk to let them know.

New allotment sheds
Thanks to a HSF grant administered by North Northants Council, all the allotment tenants have new sheds on their plots.
Growing your own food on an allotment cuts down on food miles and packaging waste, whilst providing healthy physical exercise and improved mental wellbeing via social interaction.

New SID poles installed
Northants Highways have replaced two of the Speed Indicator Device (SID) poles with larger diameter ones to take the solar power units. At the same time, the Raunds Road SID has been moved further north toward the 30 mph limit.
