Assets of Community Value

An Asset of Community Value (ACV) is an area of (non-residential) land that has a special significance to the local community and therefore has statutory protections against being sold for development without the community being aware and without the community having the chance to purchase the land for the on-going community benefit.

The adopted Neighbourhood Development Plan requires the Local Planning Authority to treat the presence of an ACV as a material consideration when determining an application for development or for change of use.
